To note the contents of the record, we find that it is issued by king Naravarman of the ParamΔra dynasty; after the auspicious symbol and the
expression jayΕβbhyudayaΕcha, the inscription begins with the two oft-quoted stanzas in the
AnushΕ£ubh metre, the first eulogising VyΕmakΔΕa and the second invoking the blessings of
SmarΔrΔti (Siva, in both the cases). Following this, it goes on to state the genealogy of the
donor in the usual way, urz., the ParamabhaαΉαΉΔraka, MahΔrΔjΔdhirΔja and ParamΔΕvara, the
illustrious SindhurΔja, his successor P.M.P. BhΕjadΔva, his successor P.M.P. UdayΔdityadΔva,
and his successor P.M.P. NaravarmadΔva (11. 3-6). Line 6 begins to denote the main object
of the record, stating that the P.M.P. NaravarmadΔva, after taking bath on the confluence of the
RΔvΔ and KuvilΔrΔ and after performing the daily duties and having worshipped BhavΔnΔ«pati
and the god NΔ«lakaαΉαΉha, announced, in the presence of BrΔhmaαΉas, the paαΉαΉakila and all who
had assembled at the village of MΔlΔpuraka in the Bhagavatpura-pratijΔgaraαΉaka, included in
the ImguαΉΔ«padra-sΔrdhasaptaΕata-bhΕga, the gift of land which is stated to have been made by
him when he was staying at the village of ChΔmaΘikΔ (?). The donee was ViΕvarΕ«pa, who was
the son of MahirasvΔmin and the grandson of DhanapΔla of the BhΔradvΔja gΕtra with its
pravaras BhΔradvΔja, Δngirasa and BΔrhaspatya, who was a student of the AΕvalΔyana ΕΔkhΔ and
hailed from AdriyalavidΔ-sthΔna which is stated to have been included in DakshiαΉΔpatha (11. 15-
16).
