The inscription belongs to the reign of a king hitherto unknown to history. He is called Rājaśēkharadeva and bears the imperial titles Śrirāja, Rājādhirāja, Paramēśvara and Bhaṭṭāraka; in the 12th year of the reign of this king an arrangement was made by the people of the eighteen nāḍus belonging to Tiruvāṝṝuvāy and the townsmen of Vāḹaippaḷḷi who assembled under the presidency of the king Rājaśēkharadeva. It was resolved in the meeting (1) that those who hinder the performance of the firmly established bali ceremony (muṭṭāppali) should be liable to pay a fine of one hundred dināra, and be considered to have committed the sin of having married their own mothers, (2) that the servants who let the ceremony fall in desuetude should be also obliged to pay each a fine of.........nāḻis of paddy each time the ceremony was stopped on account of their negligence. The paddy obtained as padavāram should be added on to the amount set apart for the śānti or pūjā, and (the remaining) nine parts for the bali ceremony. The paddy levied as fine was made payable to the temple before the midday bali of the day of the Pushya nakshatra, perhaps of each month. If the fine was not paid in due time, the delinquent should be subjected to twice the fine from the day of default. (3) The following plots of land were given to the (god) of Kailāsa (Kailādam-uḍaiyaṉār) namely, (a) Kiraṉ-kaḍambaṉār-kari yielding ten and fifteen kalams of paddy respectively in alternate years, (b) Maṇdila-kaḷam and Uḻa [śe] li yielding ten kalams, (c) Kaḷḷaṭṭu-vāy-veli of five hundred nāḻis (c) Kāñjikkā yielding five hundred nāḻis, (d) Ūraam and Pīlikkōṭṭu-puraiyiḍam and the adjoining puraiyiḍam belonging to Śaṅkarī, (the daughter) of the Kāvadi, Kaṇṇaṇ, yielding a hundred and fifty tūṇis of paddy and three dināras.
