Many occupational practice that inherently involved computation, require a basic set of arithmetic and computational apparatus. Such text which provide a table of numbers, fractions, multiplications, conversions were being taught in medieval tinnai school. The repository hosts several such texts which were actually been reproduced by the learning students by inscribing on the palm leaf manuscripts while loudly recited by the sattampillai (class leader).
